|
After returning to college to pursue a new career, UHCL alumnus Daniel Zakrzewski found his place in Houston's aerospace industry. Thanks to hands-on experience and an internship through UHCL's Office of Strategic Partnerships, he now helps develop training hardware that supports astronaut preparation and mission readiness.

From Professor to Proud Father

This spring's commencement was especially meaningful for chemistry professor Dr. Uttam Pokharel as he watched his daughter, Shradha, earn her UHCL degree. Their shared experience as faculty member and student reflects years of hard work, family support, and a passion for science that brought them to the same graduation ceremony.

Finding Direction Through Discovery

Former Canadian national team sailor Keamia Rasa came to UHCL with curiosity and found a passion for human performance research and the future of space exploration. Through hands-on research, faculty mentorship, and involvement with the Health and Human Performance Institute, she discovered a path that led her from exercise science to a graduate program focused on the commercialization of space.

The Center for Career Development is seeking employers to host UHCL students through the Hawk Job Shadow Program. By opening your workplace for a 4–8 hour shadowing experience, you'll help students explore career paths, gain real-world insight, and build meaningful professional connections. As a host, you'll:

Do you have professional expertise, leadership experience, or valuable insights to share? The UHCL Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) Program is seeking presenters for the Fall 2026 UHCL Scholarly Series.
The series features free virtual presentations that connect community members through learning, discussion, and professional development.
Presentations should be educational in nature and designed to inform, inspire, or help others develop new skills and perspectives.
