UHCL’s 35th Annual Chili Cook-Off returns this fall, celebrating food, community, and Hawk spirit. Guests can sample chili from competing teams, enjoy live music and vendors, and participate in family-friendly activities. It’s a fun-filled day that showcases UHCL pride and brings people together for a memorable fall Saturday.

Celebrate fall with UHCL at the free Square on the Scare festival in Pearland, featuring seasonal fun for the whole community. Families can enjoy inflatables, train rides, a costume parade, face painting, a petting zoo, food trucks, and trick-or-treating.

Free Application Week at UHCL

Help us spread the word to future Hawks: UHCL is offering Free Application Week, October 13–19, for Fall 2026 undergraduate applicants. During this time, both first-time-in-college and transfer students can apply through ApplyTexas without paying the application fee. This makes it easier for students to take the next step toward becoming a Hawk.

Hawaii 3 Island Adventure

March 17-25, 2026 Say aloha to adventure with the UHCL Alumni Travel Program on a nine-day journey through Oahu, the Big Island, and Maui. Highlights include Pearl Harbor, Volcanoes National Park, a Hawaiian luau, and time to relax and explore local culture and stunning landscapes. With guided tours, resort stays, and roundtrip airfare included, this trip offers a seamless way to experience Hawaii.

In honor of World Mental Health Day, UHCL’s Psychological Services Clinic will offer free, confidential mental health screenings to the community all day—no appointment needed. Attendees can check in on their wellbeing and access helpful resources, with free parking passes available. To schedule in advance, call 281-283-3330. 2026 UHCL STEM Conference

Save the date! UHCL will host the 10th Annual Greater Houston Area STEM Conference on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with the theme Innovate. Integrate. Inspire. The call for proposals is now open for 45- or 90-minute sessions that promote curiosity and innovation in STEM education. Drawing over 250 attendees annually, the conference is a hub for sharing practical strategies to advance STEM learning. Proposal submissions are due by January 31, 2026.
